The «Thetis» Community Home
«Participation in community life without restrictions»

In September 1993, the "THETIS" Community Home opened its doors in Holargos. It
was the first community structure to ever operate in Greece, in support of people
with severe learning disabilities.

The "THETIS" Community Home is located in Halandri, Athens, at 5 Kalimnou Str. The
residents of "THETIS", 10 men and women aged from 22 to 50, are integrated into
the community after many years of social exclusion in the Leros PIKPA Asylum. In
spite of their special needs, the residents, stimulated by their life in the community
as well as by the support framework provided by the Community Home, have succeeded
in taking back the place they deserve and to become active citizens.

The THETIS Community Home is always open to its friends and has regular visits from
individuals and representatives of agencies who wish to learn more about this structure.
The residents, in turn, take great pleasure in responding to the invitations of
the community.
